❤️❤️
The train display was inside a glass case at one of the doctor's offices.
You could see the display from the outside but to get a better view you needed to go into the waiting room.
I meet this little boy about 7 or 8 years old playing with the buttons.
So, together we would go from one to the other buttons to see what each one would do.
One moved the train, one the trolley, one the sky lift, one the ladder truck, one the fire truck, and one the ambulance. I took several pictures of the display.
The little boy wanted to look at the pictures each picture I took so, I would show them to him.
When I got ready to leave the little boy's father said, thank the nice lady for sharing the pictures with you. I told the little boy and I never thought to ask why he was at the doctor's office. He looked healthy so maybe everything was okay with him.
You are now in Bedford Falls
Bedford Falls (or Pottersville) is the fictional town in which the American Christmas drama It's a Wonderful Life (1946) and Philip Van Doren Stern's 1943 short story "The Greatest Gift" (on which the film is based) is set. The Bedford Falls railway station is the main form of transport to get in or out of the town. The location is used only once in the film when Harry (Todd Karns) comes back from university with his wife Ruth Dakin (Virginia Patton) as George and Uncle Billy are waiting there. While waiting there George says to Uncle Billy that a train whistle is one of the three most exciting sounds in the world. The other two were anchor chains and plane motors
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet

We walked to the electronics store but they did not have what we wanted. We stopped at the Walmart a few streets down and purchased a few items.

On our way to Nashville, we stopped at the newly rebuilt I-65 Welcome Center at Ardmore Giles County which features eco-friendly solar panels, recycling, and a Geo-Thermal Operating System.
Inside they have five rocking chairs, a fireplace, and a display about the Civil War.

1989~ My Hysterectomy Adventure!

Summer of 1989, I took five weeks off from work to have a Hysterectomy.
My doctor had found a fibroid in my uterus it was the size of a grapefruit.
He sent the fibroid off and said it was not cancer.
He also said that I could not do any heavy lifting or driving for 5 to 6 weeks after the surgery.

I remember checking in at the Hospital in Muscle Shoals where I was prepped for surgery.
I hate knives and the thought of being cut is terrifying so needless to say I was very nervous about the upcoming surgery.

When my nurse came in she said are you nervous about the surgery? I said yes.

Then the nurse said, “I am going to give you a shot it will relax you.”

The surgery went well and they had me up walking the next day.

During the surgery, my abdomen was filled with air.
My stomach looked & felt like a balloon ready to pop.
They gave me an enema to relieve the gas, but it did not work.
The nurse said that I needed to walk to relieve the gas.
I walked up and down the halls of the hospital but found no relief.

Finally, I went to the restroom and found relief, it sounded like the air coming from a hot air balloon or a stack of whoopee Cushions.
I was released from the hospital and my middle son came to the hospital to pick me up.

I had a prescription that needed to be filled so we stopped at Kmart’s Pharmacy in Muscle Shoals.
The prescription was for the pain it was Tylenol with codeine.
The doctors wanted me to walk so I walked inside K-mart with my son to get the prescription filled.
A week after I came home from the hospital my daughter-in-law said we are going to the Birmingham Zoo do you want to go? We can rent a wheelchair to push you around.
I had been cooped up in the house for a week since my stay in the hospital and I was ready to get out.
It takes about two and a half hours to drive to the Birmingham Zoo, when we arrived we purchased tickets and rented a wheelchair.
I was still very sore from the surgery, and as I was pushed into the wheelchair I could feel every bump and pothole that we hit.
It made me appreciate people who have to ride in wheelchairs all the time, especially rented ones with no extra padding.
Riding in a Wheelchair
At the Birmingham Zoo, we saw the African elephants throwing dirt onto their backs. We saw giraffes eating leaves from very tall trees. We visit the cages of the Siberian tiger, the roaring lions, the cheetah, the Black Panthers, Snow leopards, and the Jaguar.

We visited Monkey Island which housed hundreds of monkeys.
We saw a family of Gorilla with the mother feeding her young.
We went into the reptile house and saw rattle Snakes, copperheads, coral snakes, Boas, Anaconda, dragon monsters, chameleons, helmet lizards, Iguanas, and many different species of frogs.

Our next stop was to see the Roman God Vulcan atop Red Mountain, he overlooks the city of Birmingham. The Vulcan is 56 feet tall and there is an elevator that takes you to an overlook encircling the statue.

I had a wonderful time at the Birmingham Zoo & The Vulcan but was sore the next day and I had to take several Tylenol with codeine for pain.
A few weeks later I rode to the Space and Rocket Center with my son and his wife.
This trip was also fun but I had to take Tylenol with codeine because my stomach had not completely healed from the surgery.

I spent my time sunbathing on my back porch during the day.
I spent time at the Birmingham Zoo, at the Vulcan, and at the Space and Rocket Center with family.

I went back to the doctor for my six-week check-up and the doctor said I could go back to work.

I was ready to head back to work and it was wonderful to be able to sit behind the steering wheel of my own car.

We then went to Peach Park where we shared a large peach cobbler ($4.75) and peach ice cream ($2.75).
Hubby ordered a hotdog ($2.75) onion rings (2.00) and a drink.
Hank Williams Museum
We went to Hank Williams Museum Alabama’s Troubadour located at 118 Commerce Street Montgomery, Alabama cost $10.00 each.
The museum is filled with Memorabilia of Hank Williams which includes his baby-blue Cadillac, 17 Hank Williams Suits, two life-size portraits that were owned by Hank and Audrey, some of his boots, ties, overcoats, hats, horse saddle, and 1947 Gibson Guitar and many more items

Historic Markers inside the museum
When 1938, young country singer Hank Williams won a contest on the stage of the Empire Theatre. Born in Butler County, south of Montgomery, on September 17, 1923, Williams learned to play the guitar and sing on the streets of Georgia. Writing songs and performing, he made his way to Nashville, wherein 1949 his "Lovesick Blues" stopped the show at the Grand Ole Opry. Other acclaimed compositions include "Your Cheatin' Heart", Jambalaya,” and "Kaw-Liga".
Williams died on January 1, 1953, and is buried in Montgomery's Oakwood Annex Cemetery.
St John's Episcopal Church
We were given a grand tour of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Montgomery organized in 1834 by a small group of pioneer settlers.
The church has many interesting memorials including the ceiling medallions, 1885 chimes of bells in the tower, and stained glass window art by Charles Connick of Boston.
Capitol building's dome.
We took a self-guided tour of the Capitol building where we saw hanging on the walls the 52 governors of Alabama. It has a cantilevered stairway that spirals up to the third floor. We saw the old Senate Chamber, the old House of Representatives chamber, a sculpture of the only woman governor of Alabama, and the dome overlooking the rotunda on the first floor.
Outside we saw the Confederate memorial, several statues, a rose garden, and an avenue of flags.
Not a fancy building by no means.
Met a family from Wisconsin they were meeting their daughter in Montgomery and were taking his parents to Florida. We talked about the magnolia trees, about all the pecans that lay everywhere on the ground, and how our pecan trees at home were making but falling off the trees with blight
